About us

Serious injury or illness significantly affects a person physically, psychologically and socially. Most of us will never know the full horrors of combat. Many Servicemen and women suffer life-changing injuries, visible or otherwise, whilst serving their country. They may also face the added impact of dramatic and sudden changes to their career and lifestyle, placing pressure on their whole family and home life. How do these men and women find the motivation to move on and not be defined by their injuries?

The word ‘invictus’ means ‘unconquered’. It embodies the fighting spirit of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel and personifies what these tenacious men and women can achieve post injury.

Our vision is to inspire international communities through the power of the unconquered human spirit.

We are the only movement to use sport and physical activity as a recovery pathway for a global community of wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women. We inspire, improve and influence their recovery and rehabilitation through sport and adventurous challenge.

At the heart of all we do is the goal to improve the physical and mental health of wounded, injured and sick service personnel, enabling them to re-engage with their families, friends and community.

The Invictus Games Foundation is a force for good; influencing progress towards a better future. We change and save people’s lives, while changing people’s attitudes towards disability.
